About Raptor Aid.

The Board

Jimmi Hill

Role – Founder & Chair/General dogsbody

Favourite Bird of Prey – It changes weekly but….. Eurasian Hobby or Philippine Eagle

I’ve had a passion for birds of prey since a child and ended up feeding this passion by working with birds of prey in captivity from the young age of 13 during school holidays until it became a full-time career at 19. Whilst working with captive birds of prey I always had a keen interest in the conservation and education aspect of working with this group of birds.

I became active with my local Barn owl conservation group and eventually got my ringing licence with the British Trust for ornithology before focusing on monitoring other species of raptors for the last 10 years. I am now an active member of several raptor study groups and am fortunate to know and work with some incredible people monitoring many of Britain’s birds of prey.

I have a real passion for sharing knowledge and encouraging anyone with an interest to learn about birds of prey and the natural world and I hope Raptor Aid will help achieve this for many years to come.

Blake studied accountancy and worked for a top 10 firm before pursuing a successful career in the snow sports world. Blake is now a ski coach with the British Paralympic ski team.

He originally met Jimmi in high school, and they've stayed friends ever since. Although he had no direct links to birds of prey and their conservation before joining Raptor Aid, he is fortunate to travel and ski in some of the best spots in the world to see amazing birds of prey & the charity has helped him understand some of the pressures these birds face.
